Data security - Why it's important to us

The security of your data is of paramount importance to Columbia Threadneedle Investments. As your fund manager, we always endeavour to ensure that we treat all data relating to your investments with us as strictly confidential and personal.
To ensure this happens we have a variety of systems and procedures in place within Columbia Threadneedle Investments as well as with the selected third-party service providers we work with who need to have restricted access to data.
Threadneedle Investment Services Limited is authorised and regulated by the FCA, which is part of the Ameriprise Financial, Inc. group of companies. Our parent company is a leading U.S. financial services firm, and their backing gives Columbia Threadneedle Investments financial stability and security. This also ensures that we have the resources in place to invest in our infrastructure so we can provide you with the best possible customer service alongside consistent investment performance.
It is also important that our Customers remain vigilant. If you notice any irregularity with your account or if your are suspicious of any unsolicited contact, that you cannot easily explain, then please do not hesitate to call our dedicated Client Services team and we will be happy to assist or investigate further.

Treating customers fairly

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has customers’ needs at the heart of what they do. Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is a core principle whereby regulated firms must pay due regard to the interests of its customers and treat them fairly. This is an initiative that Columbia Threadneedle Investments takes extremely seriously.
Columbia Threadneedle Investments is committed to the TCF Principle and we have internal processes in place to ensure that the customer is at the centre of our business and forms a part of our culture. To meet the requirements of the TCF Principle, it is our policy to ensure:
  • Our culture keeps the client’s best interests at the heart of everything we do. TCF is key to all stages of the customer journey when dealing with Columbia Threadneedle Investments.

  • The best interests of clients are considered at all times and any conflicts that arise are managed accordingly.

  • Client needs and interests are central to all business decisions, from overall business strategy, launch of new products, changes to products or entering or withdrawing from markets

  • Training is core for all employees and the TCF culture is reflected in employee role profiles and objectives.

  • Columbia Threadneedle Investments will make product changes based on the needs of our customers rather than solely to satisfy business goals.
